Protein extraction system

The water extracted from potato cells is called potato juice, and the solid content in potato juice is about 4-6%. Among them, nitrogen-containing compounds account for 1.6-2.1%, and 50% of the nitrogen-containing substances are proteins. Potato protein is the main component of dry matter in potato juice. The solid substances in cell juice water contain a large amount of high-quality potato protein. Usually, 65% of the protein in the potato juice is recovered during this stage.
Because the wastewater from potato starch line contains protein, which is easy to generate foam; If the wastewater that contain protein is not treated, it will become odorous soon and direct discharge may cause environmental pollution.
The overflow (potato juice) from the multi-stage hydrocyclone unit in the potato starch processing workshop contains soluble and insoluble proteins. For soluble proteins, we use special flocculation extraction technology to extract them.
First, based on the principle that proteins have the lowest solubility at the isoelectric point, a portion of the protein can be precipitated. Therefore, a certain amount of hydrochloric acid is added to the potato juice to adjust the pH value of the solution to the isoelectric point of the protein. At the isoelectric point, some proteins will settle down and precipitate.
Due to the different isoelectric points of different proteins, precipitation cannot rely solely on isoelectric points. After the precipitation of some proteins, we use the protein thermal coagulation method to continue extracting the proteins in the solution, achieving maximum protein extraction.
