Cassava flour production line

The food grade cassava flour production line developed by our company is targeted at the abundant cassava resources in Africa. With modern processing technology,to resolve the main food problem for African people,as well as develop further processing solutions for cassava.
Process Description
Raw material reception and cleaning
The newly harvested cassava raw materials are transported by truck from the farmland to the factory. The truck passes through a weighing bridge and takes samples to measure the cassava starch content before unloading onto a clean concrete surface, known as cassava yard.
The raw materials are transported by a loader to the receiving hopper, and a vibrating feeding device is installed below the hopper to transport the raw materials to the inspection conveyor belt.
By using an inclined belt inspection conveyor, workers can manually cut off the wooden parts of the cassava roots, preventing hard wooden parts from entering the lower stage of the rasping process and reducing the load on the Rasper. The inspected raw materials enter a Dry Cleaner through a belt conveyor. The Dry Cleaner removes coarse sand and skin while working(dry cleaning). The sand particles and skin residue are sieved into the sand collection tank by the impurity removal machine, and are manually cleaned regularly.
After dry cleaning, the raw materials are fed into a three-stage Paddle Washer to remove residual sand particles and broken skin.Add process wastewater to the first stage cleaning machine to soak and remove the sand particles contained in the raw materials. The raw materials are conveyed into the relatively cleaner water slot of the next level through different water tanks in different areas, and the clean washing water is added to the subsequent washing machine. This way,the cassava is cleaned thoroughly through a countercurrent washing method. The washed raw materials are transported onto a belt conveyor.Regular discharge of sand particles and impurities during washing is required. On the inclined conveyor belt,it is possible to check again for tubers and any remaining impurities such as branches in the raw materials. The woods needs to be manually cut off.The inspected raw materials are transported by an inclined belt conveyor to the Rasping unit.
Chopping and Rasping unit
The raw materials from the washing unit enter the Chopper and are cut into small pieces.Through a specially designed distribution method, the raw materials are uniformly transported into the feeding hopper of the Raspers. The Rasper grinds the cassava into a low crushing rate mash, which means that 50%of the cassava powder has not yet been separated and combined with the fibers.During the rasping process, process water needs to be added to dilute it.The raspered cassava pulp is pumped into the sand remover through the collection tank under the Rasper, and then into the Desander through a slurry pump to remove sand from the cassava pulp.Due to the fact that cassava flour is not to free starch as much as possible, but combined with fibers,a specially designed Rasper plays a crucial role in the fineness of the entire flour and the degree of cassava flour freedom.
Desanding unit
In the Desanding unit, rough particles such as sand and sawtooth are removed from the cassava slurry. This unit includes ceramic cyclone tubes, sand collection tanks, automatic sand discharge valves, and backwash water devices.Backwashing water prevents the loss of cassava flour during sand removal. The cassava slurry after sand removal enters the dewater unit.
Detoxification and dewater of cassava flour
Due to the presence of toxic substances such as hydrogen cyanide in cassava peel,a plate and frame filter press is used for detoxification and dewater in this unit.
When the cassava slurry in the mash tank reaches a certain liquid level, the detoxification and dewater of the cassava slurry begins.dewater the cassava pulp using a plate and frame filter press. Then it is transported to the drying process of cassava powder through a conveyor belt.
Drying and packaging unit
The dewaterd cassava powder, due to its high water content, reaches about 45-60%and enters the dryer through the feeder. The heat source of the Flash dryer is a steam heat exchanger.Wet cassava flour is heated by hot air,and the moisture is evaporated. After drying, the cassava powder is separated from the air in a cyclone separator.Seal the bottom of the cyclone separator with a shut-off fan.Wet air is discharged into the atmosphere through the exhaust fan after leaving the cyclone separator. The collected cassava powder is transported to the vibrating sieve unit to separate the coarse particles from the cassava powder. The screened cassava powder is transported to the cassava powder silo, temporarily stored and cooled.
